Film and Digital Media
Media-based storytelling is one of the most powerful forces in our lives, societies, and cultures. The Film & Digital Media Department is designed to provide students with a broad-based understanding of this field, enabling them to become ethical, articulate, creative, and innovative leaders in media production, media management, and media studies.
Programs/Events
The Baylor in Los Angeles (BULA) program is an opportunity for students to work and learn in the heart of the filmmaking industry. This summer program is hosted by Emmerson College and offers students 4 credits to live, learn, and work in Los Angeles.
For more question about the Baylor in Los Angeles Program, please email Prof. Dan Beard at: Daniel_Beard@Baylor.edu
About the program
Baylor Students who are accepted into the program will live and go to class at Emmerson College’s LA campus. Emmerson College’s campus is a state-of-the-art center that stands tall on Sunset Boulevard.
Students will be registered for Emmerson’s VM499 internship class. The program begins around the 3rd week of May and last until the 2nd week of August.
Each student who is accepted into the program will pay a program fee of $2,000. There is an additional $600 parking fee that will be paid to Emmerson when the student moves in.
Although students are not required to have a vehicle, it is highly encouraged, as the greater LA area is spread out, and does not offer public transit to every location.
Internships
Students are required to find their own internship, but some support can be provided by both Baylor and Emmerson. Finding an internship is the student’s responsibility!
Students selected to the program will meet with the program director for an internship tutorial.
Some internships that students have had in previous years include:
Atlas Entertainment
Best Yet Entertainment
CosmoStreet
Fox Entertainment
REJ Entertainment/Time Train
Rough Diamond Productions
Team Downey
Yoruba Saxon Productions
