M.A. Funding and Assistantships
There are multiple opportunities for scholarship funding and graduate assistantships in the MA in Communication program and in other non-academic departments across Baylor’s campus.
DEPARTMENTAL FUNDING
The Department of Film and Digital Media awards several fully-funded graduate assistantships that include a full-tuition scholarship and a $15,000 annual stipend.* These graduate assistants serve as teaching assistants who facilitate instruction and evaluate student work in FDM 2360 Production Methods and FDM 1303 Introduction to Mass Communication. The department may also award partial or full-tuition scholarships to other students who do not work as graduate assistants depending on budgetary allocations.
OTHER FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
Graduate assistantships are also available throughout the university. Previous MA in Communication students have been awarded assistantships within the Baylor Interdisciplinary Core (BIC), Academy for Teaching and Learning (ATL), Campus Recreation, and other non-academic departments. The Awards and Funding Opportunities section of Baylor’s Graduate School website provides more information about open assistantships.
The Graduate School also offers a variety of benefits to support students during their time at Baylor such as the Student Health Insurance Plan and Short-Term Leave Accommodation. For more information about financing graduate education at Baylor University, consult the Benefits and Financial Support section of the Graduate School website and the Tuition and Fees section of the Baylor University Student Financial Services page.
