Baylor FDM Film Festival Office
Baylor Film & Digital Media’s Film Festival Office assists students in successfully navigating the film festival landscape.
The Department Film Festival Specialist, Professor Maverick Moore, can help Baylor students strategize which festivals and competitions to submit their films to and how to prepare their submission materials for festivals.
While select student films will receive monetary support from the Film & Digital Media Department for festival submission fees, monetary support for students submitting to festivals is granted on a case-by-case basis with graduate and senior-level films taking precedence. The Department Film Festival Specialist is in charge of evaluating which student films will receive monetary support as well as how much.
To set up a consultation meeting, students must first email the Department Film Festival Specialist a private online screener link (either an unlisted YouTube link or a password-protected Vimeo link) of the final cut of the student film they wish to submit to film festivals. After reviewing the film and discerning it to be at a quality expected from selections at film festivals, the Departmental Film Festival Specialist will then schedule an appointment (either in-person or online) with the student to discuss specific submission practices and strategies for that film.
The Department Film Festival Specialist tracks the success of student films in film festivals and competitions. Therefore, participating students are advised to keep the Film Festival Office updated with news regarding selections and awards at festivals for their student films.
