Background
Brandon Dickerson is a producer, writer, and director with decades of experience in independent feature films, documentaries, commercials, and music videos. His feature films include Sironia, Victor, A Single Frame, and Amanda & Jack Go Glamping. His films have had limited theatrical releases and streamed on Netflix, Prime Video, and Apple TV, and have won awards at festivals including the Audience Award at Austin Film Festival for Sironia and A Single Frame. He has been at the helm of projects featuring Oscar nominee June Squibb, Emmy winner Tony Hale, and Grammy winner Vince Gill.
As a screenwriter, his work extends beyond the scripts he has directed. His commissioned screenplays include Benji the Dove, adapted from Friðrik Erlingsson's novel and directed by Kevin Arbouet, and Katharine, co-written with Baylor alum Bryan Belknap and based on the life of Dr. Katharine Bushnell, which has been optioned.
Earlier in his career, he directed hundreds of commercials and music videos, including over a decade of promotional work for Disney franchises such as The Chronicles of Narnia, Camp Rock 2, Lemonade Mouth, and JONAS. His commercial career included work for clients such as Converse, Sony PlayStation, and Kinder, and earned a Cannes Gold Lion. His music video work includes artists such as Selena Gomez, Zendaya, Dove Cameron, Switchfoot, and Sixpence None the Richer, and earned a Dove Award for Music Video of the Year. Brandon is a member of the Directors Guild of America.
Through his production company, Spiral Films, Brandon produces projects end to end — development, financing, production, and distribution strategy. He is currently producing the feature The Storms We Carry. He also recently directed a children's television series and produced and shot the documentary Handmade Future with his wife, Kirsten, marking her directing debut.
Before joining Baylor's faculty, Brandon taught at the London Screen Academy, mentoring students through their final film projects and industry masterclasses. After four and a half years in Portugal and the UK, he and Kirsten moved to Waco to take the position, back to where they first met at Diadeloso.
In his free time, Brandon is catching waves at Waco Surf.
